Spring Cleaning for Tenants

Spring is here!! As the weather warms it's a great time to think about giving some attention to those parts of the house that haven't had as much attention during the year.

As Property Manager's we are responsible for all the heavy maintenance stuff. As Tenants you also have a responsibility to keep your rental clean and tidy, preventing long term issues and maintaining a good relationship with your landlord.

It may seem like a daunting task so we have put together a few idea's to give your rental a freshen up for Spring :

  • Dusting - It is easy for dust to build up over the winter months. Now is a great time to tackle those tricky places like the corners of ceilings, skirting boards, fittings, behind furniture and heat pump filters.
  • Gardens - Tend to areas where there is a build up of weeds or leaves and a general tidy up.
  • Carpets - Muddy weather can take its toll on the carpet, give them a thorough vacuum or it may even be time for a carpet clean.
  • Walls and ceilings - Giving these areas a good wipe down will prevent the build up of nasty mould, which can also be a serious health hazard.
  • Windows - Get that glass sparkly again to admire all those beautiful spring colours.
  • Oven - Get your stove back in clean and tip top shape for those Summer get together's coming up!

Most importantly let your home breathe! Open up the doors and curtains and let the fresh air flow through helping to maintain a happy and healthy home and Whanau!
